Campbell University offers a one-year residency to develop advanced knowledge, attitudes, and skills to provide pharmacotherapy for elderly patients. Required month long rotations are in the teaching nursing home, geriatric clinic, and inpatient service working with multidisciplinary faculty at East Carolina University Department of Family Medicine. Electives are available at Pitt County Memorial Hospital and with Campbell University faculty in other practice settings. Opportunities are available in home care, assisted living, and specialty acute settings. Teaching opportunities include precepting clerkship students; and presenting pharmacy student lectures, noon conference, and continuing education seminars. The resident will complete a research project and attend educational seminars. Educational sessions are integrated with family medicine residents and geriatric fellows at the practice site as well as pharmacy residents at Campbell University.
