Senior Strategic Marketing Manager

The strategy and marketing responsibilities in the business unit are overseen by a team of professionals who bring deep domain knowledge and expertise in strategic marketing, brand management, strategy, consumer and market insights, and new product innovation.  The company is seeking a new member to join its Marketing team in the role of a Senior Strategic Marketing Manager, reporting to the Director, Global Marketing.    

 

SUMMARY

The Sr. Strategic Marketing Manager (Sr. SMM) will oversee strategy and marketing for the portfolio of products and packages in their area of responsibility.  This position will have global responsibilities and cover a broad range of healthcare markets potentially including retail pharmacy offerings, Rx and OTC across a range of drug delivery methodologies.

The position will require market segmentation and consumer research to identify growth opportunities, developing necessary marketing and sales support materials and identifying new product platforms, new business models and market opportunities based on consumer and market needs. This individual will work with field sales, market research, design and the innovation groups, providing strategy and marketing expertise as the team leader or as a key collaborator.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Contribute to the business plan and strategic planning process through market segmentation, analysis and consumer/value chain needs assessments.  Develop and execute an overall strategy to drive organic growth for products and packages in their area of responsibility. 

·         Drive revenue and profitability for designated product lines or business areas of responsibility.

·         Conduct primary and secondary consumer and customer research to develop appropriate product offerings, brand positioning, marketing and sales.

·         Lead innovation for product- and technology-development efforts based on solid understanding of the behaviors and preferences of the value chain members.

·         Deliver strategic briefs to the Marketing Communications team to develop appropriate media plans and content for driving brand/product awareness and preference among MWV customers and consumers where appropriate.  Plans will include tradeshows, B2B advertising, internet, public relations and other elements of the marketing mix.

·         Work with commercial sales teams to ensure that “Voice of consumer” is understood and represented in the positioning of MWV brands and products.  Accompany commercial sales teams as appropriate on key customer calls and in the development of customer specific marketing materials.

·         Stay abreast of and communicate current market trends and competitive information.

·         Perform rigorous market/industry analyses, segmentation and targeting using a variety of primary and secondary research. Articulate positioning and value propositions and guide all elements of the marketing mix.

·         Guide pricing strategies based on consumer research and competitive product assessments.

·         Develop volume and financial forecasts guidance based on market segmentations and consumer research (pro-forma P&Ls).  Recommend product- and market-specific plans that optimize corporate profitability.

·         Coach staff and provide timely feedback and direction for their development.   

·         Work with consultants, outside agencies and suppliers, setting clear expectations about outcomes.

 

REQUIREMENTS

·         4+ years of consumer goods/marketing experience preferably in a GM-track, classical marketing/brand management roles.

·         5+ Retail pharmacy experience and/or training.      

·         Strategic marketing orientation, with a motivation to execute tactical details.

·         Proven experience in developing strategy, forecasts, business plan, including detailed financial plan.  Comfortable with managing multiple projects simultaneously.

·         Proven experience in driving organic growth through innovation initiatives. Must have proven success in bringing new products from ideation to commercialization. 

·         Solid financial literacy.

·         Highly accountable, strong sense of urgency, goal-oriented, and performance-driven.

·         Proven capabilities to leverage consumer insights from primary and secondary research and translate into product- and business-development strategies.

·         Ability to compose multiple hypotheses, gather and interpret data, conduct critical assessments, and present clear, concise conclusions and strategic recommendations.

·         Experience must include catering to consumers via a wide variety of retail channels.

·         Strong commitment to develop people and lead diverse, cross-functional teams.

·         Resourceful and inventive. Must be comfortable leading and driving change.

·         International experience and a global outlook are a strong plus.

·         Superb creative, verbal and written communication and presentation skills.

·         BA/BS and MBA required.

Position: Pharmacy Clinical Specialist

One  of our clients is currently seeking a Pharmacy Clinical Specialist to coordinate and provide clinical pharmacy services for the oncology service line.  You will be a valuable member of an entire team of clinical pharmacy specialists.  In this position, you will also serve as consultant and provider of drug therapy education to health care workers and as a preceptor for PGY-1 residents and pharmacy students. 

 

To be considered for this position we require a Doctor of Pharmacy degree, plus at least one year residency.  Completion of PG-Y2 in Oncology highly preferred.

 

The ideal candidate is someone who has completed their PG-Y2 in oncology and has 1-2 years of clinical specialty experience and has worked at a large hospital. The ideal candidate must be exceptional in communicating with physicians and other health care professionals.
