Incumbent with the remarkable success the College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences has enjoyed is greater notoriety and a significant demand for places in the Doctor of Pharmacy Class. Gaining admission to the College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences has become decidedly more rigorous and difficult as the years have progressed.
Benefits of the Program
The Campbell Pharmacy Scholar Program is designed to reward students who have demonstrated academic excellence during their high school education. Simply stated, it guarantees admission to the Campbell University College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences for high school valedictorians, salutatorian and nominees from guidance counselors and principals who continue their legacy of academic proficiency when enrolled in the Pre-Pharmacy Program at Campbell University.
Requirements for Qualification
The Campbell Pharmacy Scholar Program guarantees admission to the School of Pharmacy to students who meet the following criteria:
1. Graduation from an accredited high school in the United States as the Valedictorian; Salutatorian or be a Nominee.
(A Nominee must have an unweighted GPA of 3.5 or higher and be recommended by 2 of the following from your High School: the Principal, a Guidance Counselor or a Science teacher.)
2. High School transcripts will be reviewed to verify the applicant meets the qualifications stated above.
3. A Candidate must enroll as a Pre-Pharmacy student at Campbell University to complete the academic prerequisites to be admitted to the Doctor of Pharmacy Program. (Please note: Transfer students may not participate)
4. The candidate must apply with the Pre-Pharmacy Office at Campbell University in the fall of their Freshman year to be considered for the program.
Over the course of your Undergraduate Study
5. Pharmacy Scholars must achieve and maintain at least a 3.6 cumulative Science/Math and overall GPA on all undergraduate course work.
6. The applicant must obtain a percentile score of 75 or better in the Biology, Chemistry and overall composite portions of the Pharmacy College Admissions Test (PCAT).
7. The student’s Pre-Pharmacy faculty advisor must endorse the candidate’s application to the Doctorate of Pharmacy program by submitting a letter to the Pharmacy Admissions Office upon application to the program.
8. Candidates must successfully fulfill all requirements for admission to the School of Pharmacy, including the interview.
